5 Major Upcoming Astrological Events
The next 6 months bring some major astrological changes.
Let’s briefly explore five of the most significant astrological events coming up and some of the themes they may bring up for all of us.
Of course, these are general influences. The way these transits actually manifest in your life depends on your individual birth chart.
1. Jupiter moves into Leo
After almost 12 years, Jupiter is returning to Leo, the sign of the Sun, on 31 October. In Jyotish, the Sun is the King and Jupiter is the Guru, so this is a powerful combination of leadership and wisdom, authority and understanding. Jupiter’s time in Cancer has been about receiving and cultivating wisdom; now, as he moves into Leo, we are asked to embody and express what we have learned through teaching, creativity, leadership and service. Jupiter will also join Ketu in Magha, bringing a strong emphasis on lineage, ancestry and our connection with the teachers and traditions that have shaped us. This is a wonderful time to ask: What wisdom have I gathered, and how can I share it with the world? Read more about this transit here.
2. Rahu/Ketu change signs to Capricorn/Cancer
Rahu and Ketu will soon leave Leo and Aquarius and move into Capricorn and Cancer respectively, beginning a new 18-month cycle. Rahu in Capricorn can confront us with our relationship to discipline, steadfastness and long-term commitment, asking us to become more reliable and to follow through on what we say we will do. Meanwhile, Ketu in Cancer may bring a degree of detachment from our emotions and familiar comforts, teaching us that we don’t always have to act according to how we feel in the moment. Sometimes the lesson is: feel what you feel, but do what you know you need to do. Stick to the plan.
3. Saturn turns direct in Pisces after 5 months retrograde
On 10 December, Saturn turns direct in Pisces, bringing a gradual shift from reflection into forward movement. Saturn retrograde can make us feel as though progress is slow or blocked, but its deeper purpose is to make us examine where we need greater discipline, patience and commitment. In Pisces, this is particularly connected with our spiritual life—asking us to give structure to our inner practices rather than simply waiting for inspiration. As Saturn turns direct, we can begin to put into practice what we have learned during this period. A simple way to work with this transit is to choose one spiritual practice and commit to doing it consistently, even when you don’t feel like it. Saturn reminds us that transformation often comes not through dramatic experiences, but through patiently showing up, day after day.
4. Jupiter, Mars and Ketu come together (twice!)
Perhaps the most intriguing event of the coming months is the meeting of Jupiter, Mars and Ketu. Jupiter and Mars will first come together with Ketu in Leo (Mid-November) before retrograding back into Cancer, where all three will meet again around March. This creates a powerful combination of wisdom, action and detachment, and may bring important questions about what we are being called to do—and what we need to let go of. Jupiter asks us to seek meaning and follow our dharma, Mars gives us the energy to act (less so in Cancer), while Ketu strips away attachments and shows us what is no longer essential. Rather than rushing to act on every impulse, this is a good period to pause, listen inwardly and ask: what is truly worth my energy? When clarity comes, act decisively—but let go of the need to control the outcome.
5. The February eclipses
February brings two powerful eclipses, beginning with a solar eclipse in Capricorn on 6 February, followed by a lunar eclipse in Leo on 20 February. The Capricorn eclipse, close to Rahu, highlights themes of responsibility, discipline, work and the structures we are building in our lives. It invites us to take greater ownership of our long-term direction and ask what we are truly committed to creating. The lunar eclipse in Leo, meanwhile, brings our attention to identity, creativity, leadership and lineage, asking us to reflect on what we have inherited and what we are here to carry forward. Together, these eclipses offer a powerful opportunity to reassess our priorities, let go of what no longer serves us, and commit more deeply to the life we are here to build.
